Our mission is to raise community and student awareness of sustainable agriculture, promote the full cycle of producing sustainable and locally grown food, and provide educational and research opportunities for students, faculty, and the staff at Northern Michigan University and the greater Marquette community.
All produce grown at the Hoop House is brainstormed, planted, cared for, and harvested by NMU students and community members.

The NMU Hoop House primarily donates its produce to NMU community partners such as the NMU Food Pantry.
The NMU Hoop House hosts workshops and takes field trips to local farms. Past workshops have included: pickles, jam, kimchi, tomato sauce, and hot sauce.Past field trips have included: the MSU North Farm, Pileated Farms, Seeds and Spores, and Partridge Creek Farm.
