The newly-renovated Lydia M. Olson Library would be the perfect space for a new, collaborative mural. Hosting a project like this during the semester it re-opens this would make students feel more connected with the new space. The goal is to welcome students to submit designs, vote on the submitted options, and participate in painting the mural. Leslie Warren and Emera Bridger Wilson have approved of this project, and Emera will continue to supervise and advise the student-led committee over the course of the semester.

The Library Mural Committee would be in charge of decisions on how this event should be run, marketing the event via social media posts and tabling, and overseeing the painting events. This club will be a great opportunity for students to be involved as leaders in how the library will be shaped going forward.

Did you know that hunger and poverty are prevalent issues in Marquette? Join Marquette Ending Hunger to combat rural poverty and hunger in our community. Mu Beta Psi, National Honorary Musical Fraternity is an all-inclusive, co-ed group that allows members to experience Brotherhood in a way that is different from other social Greek organizations. By not requiring Brothers to be music majors, play an instrument, or even be able to sing, Mu Beta Psi provides unique opportunities for students with an active interest in music to work together both musically and socially. We pride ourselves on being able to serve NMU's campus and the Marquette community while promoting music to everyone around us. Some of our recent service efforts include volunteering at the UP 200 Sled Dog Race, the U.P. Children's Museum, Moosewood Haunted Bogwalk, Great Lakes Recovery Center book drive, Women's Center clothing driveand NMU's annual Jazz Festival, as well as NMU's Choral Invitational. The goal of the NMU Food Pantry is to provide any university-affiliated persons with resources to combat food insecurity. On a regular basis, the food pantry is stocked with a range of food items, hygiene products, household goods, cleaning supplies, kitchen items, baby supplies [diapers, etc], clothing, bedding, and small household appliances. Beyond spreading awareness of an important campus resource, we are diligent in our efforts to ensure that anyone who visits the pantry feels safe, welcomed, and supported. Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) is dedicated to empowering and educating students to advocate for drug policies that are rooted in science, compassion, and social justice. Our mission is to challenge the stigma and misinformation surrounding drug use, while promoting a more rational and humane approach to drug policy at the local, national, and global levels.

We believe that effective drug policy should prioritize public health over punitive measures, recognizing that addiction is a complex health issue rather than a criminal one. Through workshops, educational events, and community outreach, we aim to raise awareness about the harms of the War on Drugs and to foster informed conversations about alternatives that promote safety, harm reduction, and recovery.

Our club will serve as a platform for students to engage in meaningful dialogue, develop critical thinking skills, and collaborate with like-minded individuals and organizations. By uniting our voices, we can advocate for policy changes that reflect the needs and realities of our communities, pushing for reforms that ensure equitable treatment for all individuals impacted by drug policies.

Superior Edge is a development program that provides you with the opportunity to combine in- and out-of-the-classroom experiences in a way that will give you an "EDGE" with employers and graduate schools. We aim to build and maintain a collaborative effort in combating the human trafficking problem in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with special attention to NMU and the surrounding counties, with a victim centered, trauma informed, and multidisciplinary approach.

Membership in Trafficking Awareness & Prevention (TAP) is open to all currently enrolled students who demonstrate an interest in human trafficking awareness, prevention, and advocacy. TAP is committed to maintaining an inclusive and interdisciplinary environment and welcomes students from all academic backgrounds.
To become and remain an active member, individuals are expected to:
• Commit to the mission and values of TAP, including a survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to anti-trafficking work
• Attend meetings and events regularly; a minimum of 1 meeting per semester.
• Participate in at least one TAP initiative per semester, such as awareness campaigns, volunteer opportunities, or educational programming
• Attend trainings as they become available, especially those provided in collaboration with the Upper Peninsula Human Trafficking Task Force, to ensure responsible and informed engagement
• Adhere to ethical and professional standards, including maintaining confidentiality, using respectful language, and avoiding the spread of misinformation

The NMU Volunteer Center was formed in 1992 to provide a link between the Marquette community and Northern Michigan University. At the Volunteer Center, NMU students, student organizations, faculty, and staff can find out about volunteer opportunities and local contact information for non-profit organizations looking for volunteers.

The Volunteer Center also coordinates Make A Difference Day each October. Finally, the Volunteer Center works to encourage service through recognizing volunteers' achievements.

The Wildcat Marching Band

The Pride of the North is an amazing ensemble to be a part of when you are first getting to know NMU or renewing old friendships. Where else can you earn college credit for having fun? A typical marching season includes five or six home football games and selected campus activities. We want to emphasize, however, that marching band at the university level generally takes less time than in high school. Our activities are carefully planned so the total time involved is not a strain on most students' academic schedules. We look for musicians for woodwind, percussion, and brass sections and individuals interested in participating in the color guard. The Wildcat Marching Band is open to all university students regardless of their major.
