About Us

Our mission is to promote advocacy and create a safe space for people with disabilities on campus. We want to hear from people and allow them to share their stories while also educating others and the community. We are here to open the public's mind about disability. We want to show the many ways "Disability" can be redefined and destigmatized.

Our Purpose

Diversity in Disability works to create and participate in events that help spread awareness, educate individuals, and provide support for members with visible and invisible disabilities of the NMU Community.

Support

We provide a safe space for individuals with disabilities to share their experiences in a supportive environment, and connect students with the needed campus and community resources.

We also support disability rights on campus through collaboration and partnership with various university departments and community organizations.

Advocate

We support disability rights and diverse involvement within the NMU community.

Educate

We share the experiences of individuals with disabilities at NMU and help spread awareness about disabilities.

We also promote an understanding of individuals with disabilities and their contributions to the on and off campus communities.
