Fueled by positive findings from clinical trials, public perception around psychedelic drugs has shifted dramatically over the last decade, with interest and access continuing to rise. This presentation will provide an updated and measured overview of the field of psychedelic science, covering history, therapeutic applications, mechanisms of action, risks, and challenges of translating clinical science to clinical practice. Dr. Aday is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Northern Michigan University and a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, where he conducts clinical and naturalistic research on psychedelic drugs in the Michigan Psychedelic Center (M-PsyC) and the Chronic Pain & Fatigue Research Center (CPFRC).
