Homecoming Parade - Golf Cart Decorating Competition

Get ready to unleash your creativity and showcase your campus pride in the golf cart decorating competition! This year we're bringing back golf carts for an extra touch of fun. Residence halls, club sports teams, and student organizations will compete to see who can create the best golf cart, celebrating our Homecoming theme - "Tales From The Wild: Where Myth Meets Marquette!" 

Registration:

• Registration is required to compete!

• Opens Monday, August 11 and closes on Wednesday, September 10

Parade Event Details

• Date: Friday, September 19

• Day of Parade Timeline

  • 4:00-4:45 p.m. Check in with the Special Events Committee (SEC) 

  • 5:00-5:30 p.m. Pre-Parade Judging 

  • 5:30-6:00 p.m. Parade 

  • 6:00-6:30 p.m. Return deconstructed golf carts and receive $10 cash deposit back

• Location: Behind the Dome in the Pine Street parking lot (lot 56)

• Parade Route: The parade golf carts will line up in the parking lot behind the Dome (lot 56) and along Pine Street. The parade loop starts on East Fair Avenue in front of the Berry Events Center and will proceed up Third Street. Golf carts will then turn left on Hewitt Street and make another left onto Front Street going back towards campus.

Pre-Parade Events for Competing Groups

• Mandatory Parade Meeting

  • Wednesday, September 17, 8 p.m., Jamrich
    • One Member of your team must attend the mandatory meeting

• Pre-Parade Party (Golf Cart Decorating):
  • Thursday, September 18, 4-9 p.m., Behind the Dome
    • Supplies are limited! 
    • FREE pizza will be provided around 5:30 p.m. 
    • Feel free to come and go as you wish
