About Us

The purpose of the Northern Museum of Zoology Student Organization is to promote the study and appreciation of wildlife, and to educate the public on the importance of permanent specimen archives as a foundation for education and research that is focused on biodiversity science. Any current NMU student who is interested in zoology and specimen-based science is welcome to join the organization. We believe that everyone, regardless of career endeavor, can benefit from learning about animals. We commit to providing all students with opportunities to learn about and contribute to the work done in the Northern Museum of Zoology. Specific objectives of our organization are: - To provide educational programs and exhibits on zoological topics, including ways in which museum specimens support biodiversity research. - To promote the conservation of wildlife. - To encourage participation in zoological research and conservation. - To foster a sense of community among zoology enthusiasts. We believe that these objectives are essential for promoting the study and appreciation of zoology. We are committed to working towards these goals, and we hope that you will join us in our efforts.
