Join us on September 11th in Marquette, Michigan for the Steps of Honor: Sugarloaf 9/11 Tribute, hosted by Turning Point USA at Northern Michigan University. This meaningful event honors the lives of the heroes lost on September 11, 2001, through a symbolic climb up Sugarloaf Mountain.

Participants will hike the 300-step staircase to the summit, with seven climbs equaling the number of stairs in the Twin Towers (110 flights). Along the way, climbers can carry American flags in tribute, while custom rubber bracelets will be given out at the base—one for each lap completed—as a personal marker of progress toward the full challenge. At the bottom, a hospitality table with water and snacks will be available for all participants, ensuring everyone can stay refreshed throughout the tribute.

All ages are welcome—bring your friends, family, or coworkers to take part in this moving tribute together.

This is not a race—it’s a climb of remembrance, respect, and unity. Whether you complete one trip or all seven, your participation helps keep the memory of 9/11 alive while honoring our nation’s resilience and the incredible sacrifice that first responders made that day.
