The event is free and open to the public. The primary presenter will be NMU Psychological Science Professor, Dr. Jon Craig Barch along with other members of his research team. The goal is to give audience members a better understanding of how the unconscious mind works, how it is critical to our daily life, but also how it is responsible for unconscious race and gender bias in emotion, thinking, and behavior. Dr. Barch shares the science, but in a fun and easily digestible way for everyone. During the talk audience will also learn about bias reduction research that the team is doing at NMU and how they could participate if they are interested.
