Refugee Outreach Collective: Art & Jazz Charity Gala, Music Provided by 906Jazz

The NMU Refugee Outreach Collective is hosting an Art & Jazz Charity Gala to raise money for refugees and share their stories.

On display and up for auction are eight oil-canvas paintings handcrafted by refugees in the UN Refugee Camp in Dzaleka, Malawi. The paintings are accompanied by short stories from the artists describing their work or life in Dzaleka. In addition to the Dzaleka Collection, we will have ROC's "Voices of Matamoros" on display which includes interview excerpts from asylum-seekers in Matamoros, Mexico.

While viewing the displays, feel free to listen in to the live music provided by 906Jazz and enjoy hors d'oeuvres. Entry is free, all are welcome! Attendees are asked to dress semi-formal for the event.
